NSCAA and NFHS Partner to Offer Professional Development Certificate at 2013 NSCAA Convention

If you need another great reason to be in Indianapolis in mid-January, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the National Federation of High Schools are providing one.
High school coaches attending the 2013 NSCAA Convention have the opportunity to garner a Professional Development Certificate endorsed by both the NFHS and NSCAA. This option also provides high school coaches a broader range of educational opportunities, as well as allowing them to keep up to date on ever-changing topics and new developments.
“The NSCAA and the NFHS have a great relationship focusing on educating high school coaches and this is a start of another chapter in that relationship,” Joe Cummings, NSCAA CEO, said. “Year in and year out we try to develop Convention programming attendees find value in and this co-endorsed certificate is validation that that goal is being met.”
The NSCAA-NFHS Professional Development Certificate will be offered during the Convention, as attendees can add the “U15-U19” labeled sessions to their schedule to meet the requirement. Attendees can attend these sessions without a scheduling conflict between sessions in this track, and learn about a wide range of topics such as the psychological, technical, tactical, motivational and methodology of the game. The certificates will also be an option for those planning to attend the newly-created NSCAA Summer Symposium in August.
“Our goal is to provide our members with the best opportunities to enhance their careers and strengthen the high school soccer landscape,” NFHS Executive Director Bob Gardner commented. “Partnering with NSCAA to provide this professional development option is a great way for high school coaches to build up their coaching arsenal and be recognized for it as well.”
In order to obtain the NSCAA-NFHS Professional Development Certificate, an attendee must either:
1. Complete the online NSCAA-NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Soccer course and attend a minimum of three 60-minute sessions at the NSCAA Convention or Summer Symposium, or
2. Attend a minimum of six of the NFHS-endorsed presentations at the NSCAA Convention or Summer Symposium. Each presentation is a minimum of 60 minutes in length.
Below are the eligible sessions at the 2013 Convention that meet the requirements.

Also, the online course will be validated at the NSCAA office when completed. The Professional Development Certificate will be mailed to the attendee within three weeks of receipt of the validated form.
High school coaches can take advantage of this new opportunity starting with the 2013 NSCAA Convention, January 16-20. To register for the event and housing, visit NSCAA.com/convention/registration. Bob and Lorenz, Validation cards will be available in the attendee sack pack when you check in at the registration desk. Validation stations will be outside the demo field halls and/or lecture areas.

i am hopeful that i can complete the PDC, but last year there were extremely long lines to get cards stamped after the sessions. it was impossible to get from session to session and also get stamped. will there be more "stampers" this year to accommodate the level of interest? last year i was more interested in the sessions than I was standing in line to get a stamp.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
