To everyone involved in the Convention, back room staff, awards, presenters, attendees etc. THANK YOU. Personally I had a great 5 days and hope that everyone involved had close to a similar, or even better, experience.
2013 Convention Concluded With Legends and Diplomas
One tweet sent early Saturday morning summed up the 2013 NSCAA Convention.
I am constantly reminded why I love soccer…Thx @NSCAA for bringing old friends, teammates, coaches together to laugh and share.
That tweet was from 2012 Honorary All-American Julie Foudy (@JulieFoudy) and describes an epic Saturday and productive Sunday.
Saturday started with the Women’s Soccer Breakfast, with legendary soccer player Michelle Akers as the keynote speaker, followed by a presentation to the Women’s Committee Award of Excellence winner, Lesle Gallimore.
In addition to sessions about performance analysis in the college game and describing characteristics of successful youth clubs, hundreds of the nation’s top soccer players attended the 2013 All-America Banquet.
At the same time, new U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Tom Sermanni hosted a field session, “Receiving, Support Positions and Combination Play.”
The day wrapped up with the annual Walt Chyzowych 4-A-Side Tournament, which allowed attendees to showcase a week’s worth of learning on the field. Team 8 Stars would battle its way to the 2013 tournament title.
On Sunday, three field sessions were held throughout the morning, all counting toward either the NSCAA Level 2 Diploma or Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma.
As attendees left Indianapolis to return to implement what they learned, here are some comments tweeted about the 2013 NSCAA Convention:
@MichelleAkers10: At airport headed home! Bye @NSCAA, soccer friends, and Indianapolis! Thx 4 great time and new beginning.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
