Taylor Eller, a junior midfielder from Melbourne High School (Melbourne, Fla.), and Chris Nichols, a senior goalkeeper from Vista Ridge High School (Ceder Park, Texas), have been selected as the NSCAA High School Players of the Week.
Eller scored a goal and contributed an assist in the state championship game that Melbourne won, 4-2. This is the third title in five years for Melbourne and their fourth overall. The junior midfielder was a key component that helped Melbourne finish the season with a 25-0-1 record.
Nichols, a 2012 All-District goalkeeper, had three saves in Vista Ridge's last district game, a 2-0 victory over Leander High School. This was the senior goalkeeper’s fifth shutout. Nichols has 41 saves this season through 13 games. The two-year starter will play his next match this Friday against Vandergrift High School.
Other male finalist included Alex Adrion from St. Thomas High School (Houston, Texas).
The NSCAA High School Player of the Week program is designed to highlight the future stars of the game. Anyone can nominate a player, however only players whose coach is a current NSCAA member are eligible for selection. Honorees will be announced on Wednesdays.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
