Delaney Sheehan, a senior midfielder at Mandeville High School (Mandeville, La.) and Keith Murphy, a sophomore goalkeeper at Servite High School (Anaheim, Calif.) have been selected as the NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Players of the Week.
Sheehan scored her 201st varsity goal in Mandeville’s regional playoff win against Baton Rouge High School. She is the first player in school history to score over 200 varsity goals. The senior midfielder finished the season with 56 goals (a new school record for goals scored in a single season) and 33 assists.
Sheehan has signed a letter of intent to play at Furman University in the fall. Sheehan was named to the 2012 NSCAA All-America Team and was selected as the 2012 Gatorade Girls Player of the Year in Louisiana.
Murphy played a pivotal role in Servite’s last two victories. The first match ended with a 1-0 victory over the second-highest scoring team in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). The sophomore goalkeeper preserved a 0-0 tie in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs that ended in a 4-2 penalty kick victory.
Other female finalist included Sage Haferkamp from Cleburne High School (Cleburne, Texas). Other male finalist included Laurence Chamberlain from Midlothian High School (Midlothian, Texas).
The NSCAA High School Player of the Week program is designed to highlight the future stars of the game. Anyone can nominate a player, however only players whose coach is a current NSCAA member are eligible for selection. Honorees will be announced on Wednesdays.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
