For the third consecutive week, the NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Players of the Week hail from either the Tar Heel state or the Palmetto state.
Brinkley Culpepper, a senior striker at Franklin High School (Franklin, N.C.), and David Wildmen, a senior midfielder at Blythewood High School (Blythewood, S.C.), have been selected for this week's awards.
Culpepper scored five goals in her last two games. The first goal was the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Brevard High School. Two days later, Culpepper scored all four goals in a 4-0 win against Pisgah High School. The senior striker leads the Panthers with 14 goals this season.
Wildmen has been a crucial component in Blythewood’s last two victories, scoring three goals and registering five assists. The senior midfielder scored a goal and assisted on three others in a 5-1 victory against Irmo High School. Wildmen followed up with a two-goal, two-assist performance in a 5-1 win against Lugoff-Elgin High School.
Wildmen’s head coach, Peter Wittig lauded the player’s ability to balance a workload that includes academics, athletics and a part-time job. Wittig described Wildmen as an individual who “leads the charge.”
Other female finalists included Taylor Burns from North Gwinnett High School (Suwanee, Ga.), Ashley Finke from Charlotte Latin School (Charlotte, N.C.), Caitlin Rotonnelli from Inter-Lakes High School (Meredith, N.H.) and Christy Goldberg from Westlake High School (Austin, Texas).

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
