Congratulations, Emily! Current statistics--31 goals in 11 games. Team ranked #1 with a 10-0-1 record.
Rising Star, Sensational Senior named NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Players of the Week
Emily Cervantes, a freshman forward from Catholic Memorial High School (Waukesha, Wis.) and Thomas “Chip” Tremarelli, a senior forward from Hilton Head Island High School (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) have been named as the NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Players of the Week.
In her last two games, Cervantes scored four of Memorial High’s seven goals. The freshmen striker scored a hat trick in a 3-0 victory over Slinger High School and she scored a goal and won a penalty kick in a 4-0 victory over Muskego High School. Cervantes has scored 17 of the Crusader’s 40 goals this season.
Cervantes’ head coach, John Burke, lauded her offensive prowess, specifically her ability to create space and beat defenders.
“Even when she is double or triple teamed by opponents, Emily finds a way to create space for herself,” Burke said. “She provides excellent offensive pressure on the opposing fullbacks.”
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel recently named Cervantes their player of the week.
Tremarelli has scored three goals in his last two games. The senior forward scored in a crucial 3-1 victory over James Island and followed up with a two-goal performance in a 3-1 victory over Beaufort High School.
The Seahawks are 17-4-0 this season and a perfect 14-0-0 when the senior striker scores a goal. Tremarelli leads the team with 23 goals this season and was selected to play in the North-South All-Star Soccer Classic this summer.
The NSCAA High School Player of the Week program is designed to highlight the future stars of the game. Anyone can nominate a player, however only players whose coach is a current NSCAA member are eligible for selection. Honorees will be announced on Wednesdays.

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
