Nearly 200,000 impressions were made on the soccer coaching community from Coaching Education Weekend, a weekend-long celebration of soccer coaches. The weekend was meant to draw attention to the importance of getting educated and to recognize coaches for participating around the country and we want to thank all who participated in the eventful weekend.
Coaches could get involved with the event in one or more of the following ways:
- Attend any coaching course going on the weekend of June 14-16
- Enroll in an online coaching education opportunity
- Watch the live chat discussing the importance of Coaching Education to kickoff the weekend
- Download a Coaching Education Weekend banner to put on a website or blog
- Talk about Coaching Education on social media by using the #CEW2013 hashtag on Twitter or tagging photos and posts on Facebook
There were 31 total coaching courses held between NSCAA, US Youth Soccer, SAY Soccer and U.S. Soccer during the weekend. More than 500 coaches were in attendance; 162 coaches tuned in for the Coaching Education Weekend live chat; 2,945 coaches visited NSCAA.com/cew, 204 coaches downloaded banners for their websites or blogs; and 190,993 impressions were generated on Twitter and 2,853 on Facebook.
Our goal next year is to host at least one course in every state to make a larger national impact and to put greater emphasis on the value of being educated as a coach. Consider hosting a course at your facility next year.
Getting educated can be a year-round practice. Stay engaged with the NSCAA and take advantage of daily resources:
- Browse the coaching course menu
- Search the Online Resource Library
- See our online education opportunities
- Check out additional coaching resources
Here are some photos from this past weekend. Additional photos are available on the NSCAA Facebook page.

@SoccerSDO: Thankfully I wasn't asked to actually play keep this weekend. Lots of play, lots of crosses, lots of finishing at @NSCAA GK course. #CEW2013
@MJeff82: I'm exhausted, sunburnt and potentially have cracked ribs.... God knows though it was worth it. Great couple of weeks with @NSCAA #AdvNat

I wish someone uploaded a legible copy of the Bob Gansler & Tony DiCiccio presentations at The Orlando event. I was there, it was awesome, and now I can't read my diagram/notes as to how the ball/players move!
