The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has renewed its partnership with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO).

“We are proud to announce the renewal of a partnership between our Association and AYSO,” said Joe Cumming, NSCAA CEO. “We support each others’ goals and values as organizations so we are excited to continue this long time relationship and look forward to implementing more of the many mutual benefits for both organizations.”

AYSO is a non-profit organization that provides youth soccer programs in nearly 900 communities all over the United States and internationally in the Virgin Islands and Trinidad and Tobago. Consisting of over 50,000 teams and 500,000 players nationwide, AYSO is one of the leading youth soccer organizations.. It is often called “the biggest soccer club in the world.”

AYSO’s mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs, which promote a fun, family environment based on their Six Philosophies of Everyone Play®, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development.

“We’re very pleased to continue this great relationship with the NSCAA,” said Lynn Berling-Manuel, AYSO Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re also excited to continue our support of the Robby Robinson Award.  We honor all the coaches and players that carry on the rich tradition of the high school student athlete.”

Each year at the NSCAA Convention, with the support of AYSO, the Association presents the Robert W. “Robby” Robinson High School Long Term Service Award. It is presented to a person who has raised interscholastic soccer to new heights through his or her long-term dedication to the game.

It is named after a Philadelphia-area high school coach who has touched virtually every aspect of the NSCAA.

About AYSO

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is the oldest national youth soccer program in the United States. AYSO was established with only nine teams by a handful of soccer enthusiasts in 1964 out of a garage in Torrance, Calif. They wanted to make sure American kids were introduced to the beautiful game. Five decades later, AYSO has thriving programs in nearly 900 communities all over the country, over six million AYSO alumni and a logo that’s recognized nationwide.

This is great but what are the individual members getting out of this partnership? It would be nice if AYSO volunteers could get discounted coaching classes.
