| MINUTES NSCAA ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING January 14, 2005 – Baltimore, Maryland Joe Cummings called the meeting to order at 2 pm. MOTION: To approve the minutes of the January 2004 NSCAA Business Meeting. MOTION PASSED President’s Report – Joe Cummings Introduced a “Multiply the Membership” initiative for new members and Board approved a complimentary membership for all coaches completing the NSCAA Regional Diploma beginning in 2005. The implementation of new governance structure was completed and we put a higher focus on our Mission and Vision statements as well as our core values. We have new partnerships with youth state/clubs associations and have developed three new educational DVD’s. Thanks to Janet Rayfield, Immediate Past President, for her service as she rotates off the Board. Welcome to Schellas Hyndman as the incoming president. First Vice-President – Schellas Hyndman Second Vice-President – Louise Waxler Third Vice-President – Steve Malone Secretary – Al Albert Past President – Janet Rayfield Executive Director – Jim Sheldon (presented by Steve Veal) The national office now has a 12-person staff that should grow to 13 in 2005. The NSCAA website continues record record numbers in terms of visitors. It continues to improve. Distance learning was launched in 2004. A record surplus of $144,000 was recorded in the 2003-04 fiscal year on a budget of $3.3 million. A number of new partnerships were added in 2004, in addition to the retention and strengthening of existing agreements. Attendance at residential academies in 2004 continued to rise and the non-residential courses continue to mushroom. Attendance at the Charlotte Convention was 5,693 and all indications are that this Baltimore event will have record-setting numbers by week’s end. MOTION: To adjourn the meeting.
