Leopoldo, Krzysik Garner Scholar Athlete of the Year Honors
Both earn fourth award from NSCAA and adidas this year
Jason Leopoldo of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Nicole Krzysik of Clifton, N.J., have been named the 2004 NSCAA/adidas High School Scholar Athletes of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, completing a rare quadruple of honors for each.

Both have been named to NSCAA/adidas All-America teams for high school and youth (club) play and have claimed spots on their respective NSCAA/adidas High School Scholar All-America squads, the only two athletes to achieve the trifecta of earning spots on all three teams.

Both will be recognized at the All-America Luncheon which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, as part of the 2005 NSCAA Convention in Baltimore, Md.

About Jason Leopoldo
A four-year starter for the Thousand Oaks High School varsity team, he has led his squad to two Marmonte League titles and its first state soccer championship in 2004 while earning first-team all-league honors. Ranked in the top five percent of his class, he has been named the Thousand Oaks High School Soccer Scholar-Athlete the past two years and can speak Portuguese, French and Spanish. A member of So Cal United Soccer Club, he helped his team to the 2003 US Youth Soccer national championship. As a member of the Cal-South State Team, he won an ODP national title that same year. He has been a member of the California ODP team since 1999 and part of the Region IV team since 2001. He has committed to play intercollegiate soccer for UCLA.

A four-time varsity letter-winner, she earned Associated Press first-team All-State honors the past three years while leading her team to the Passaic County title three times. She holds the Clifton High School record for goals scored in a season (21) and a career (55). A member of the U.S. U-16, U-17 and U-19 National Team, she recently returned from the U-19 Women's World Cup in Thailand. A member of the New Jersey Lady Stallions of the W-League, she received the inaugural U-19 Player of the Year award from the league. A member of the Clifton track team, she also holds the school record in the 600m run. Ranked among the top three recruits by Soccer America and Student Sports Soccer, she will play at the University of Virginia next fall.
