Penn State senior forward Christie Welsh closed out her run of the table by earning NSCAA/adidas Women's NCAA Division I All-America honors for the fourth consecutive year. The team was announced at a news conference in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday, Dec. 12.

In addition to Welsh, three other players earned their third inclusion on the NSCAA's All-America squad: Aly Wagner, a senior forward from Santa Clara who is Welsh's successor as recipient of the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy; Lauren Orlandos, a senior defender from the newly-crowned national champions of the University of Portland; and senior forward Christine Latham of the University of Nebraska.

Two players made a return to the All-America roster after missing last year: Aleisha Cramer-Rose, a junior at BYU, and Kate Gordon, a senior at Marquette.

The NSCAA/adidas All-America teams are determined through voting by NSCAA member coaches from across the nation. The teams, from youth to NCAA Division I, will be honored at the NSCAA/adidas All-America Luncheon, to be held Saturday, Jan. 18, as part of the 2003 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.
