| Jim Sheldon |
Jim Sheldon was named the NSCAA's executive director in 1992, the Association's first full-time administrator. During his tenure, he has guided the Association to unprecedented membership and corporate sponsorship growth.
He has more than 30 years of athletics administration experience, joining the NSCAA after serving as vice president of the 1990 Seattle Goodwill Games Organizing Committee.
Sheldon serves as the liaison between the NSCAA and various constituent groups, including foreign soccer associations, NCAA Division II, the National Junior College Athletic Association, USSF, NSCAA Black Soccer Coaches Committee, NSCAA Latin American Soccer Coaches Committee and NSCAA Soccer Ambassadors program.
He spent six and a half years at the NCAA, where he served in both the publications and championships departments. He served as the administrator of several NCAA championships, including Division I, II and III men's soccer as well championships in tennis, ice hockey, wrestling, basketball and track and field.
Sheldon earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas in 1975 and served as an assistant sports information director at KU for three and a half years. He coaches youth soccer in the greater Kansas City area.
