Steve Veal joined the NSCAA in 1993 as its program director. He was promoted to assistant executive director of administration in 1997 and named associate executive director of administration in 2003.
He has more than 25 years of athletic administration experience, joining the NSCAA after spending 15 years with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athetics, where he first served assistant director of public relations and later vice president, division of championships.
In his current role, Veal works with the NSCAA Membership Council to implement programs and strategies to recruit and retain members. He also handles membership administration. Additionally, he manages the insurance programs within the association. As a part of the Convention Committee, Veal serves as assistant convention manager, serving on the site selection committee, coordinating VIP registration and convention security.
Veal is staff liaison to the NSCAA Women's Committee. He also serves as the liaison to several outside constituencies, including the NAIA, NCAA Divisions II and III women's programs, the National Junior College Athletic Association women's programs, the National Christian College Athletic Association, Special Olympics Soccer and the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
He has been recognized by the NSCAA, NAIA and NISOA for his efforts on behalf of intercollegiate soccer. He was the 1992 NSCAA Bill Jeffrey Award recipient for his outstanding service to intercollegiate soccer. In 1998, Veal was inducted into the NAIA Soccer Hall of Fame in the Meritorious Service category. He was presented with the NISOA Recognition Award in 1991 and was the 2006 recipient of the association's Distinguished Service Award.
