The NSCAA recognizes those who contribute to the growth of the sport in a variety of ways beyond coaching and playing. These awards include the NSCAA Writing Contest, which honors journalists who have excelled in the coverage of soccer in the previous year; the Honorary All-America, which recognizes the contributions of those from professions outside of coaching or those whose performances have helped elevate the visibility of the game; and other special categories such as the Women's Committee Award of Excellence, which commends those who have helped shape the atmosphere of excellence which surrounds the women's game in America.
