The Latin American Soccer Coach Committee (LASCC) was founded with the purpose of promoting the preparation and development of male and female Latino coaches, players, and referees. The vision of LASCC is to provide adequate and timely information to the Latino community regarding the different education opportunities to become a soccer coach under the philosophy of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The Latino community has a rich soccer tradition because soccer is the number one sport for the Latinos. LASCC aims to provide information about coaching education opportunities and strategies for the effective organization of the different soccer levels and categories in the Latino communities. LASCC wants the Latino community to become an integral part in the developments of soccer in the United States. The values of LASCC are centered in the values of soccer, camaraderie, support, teamwork, communication, team and individual development, and respect for the game and the laws. LASCC demands all its members to have professionalism and is governed under the code of ethics of the NSCAA. LASCC is governed by the NSCAA’s values of diversity. These values promote diversity and offers equal opportunities for all races, languages, sex and people with special needs. Therefore, LASCC will provide information to the Latino community in its native language, Spanish, and also in English. LASCC aims to be visionary in identifying coaches with great experience and talent among their membership and make them available to our Latino soccer community.
LASCC is the most effective way for the Latino community to be part of NSCAA and other soccer organizations in the country.
LASCC HAS SPECIFIC GOALS:
- Establishing and maintaining an effective line of communication in both languages, English and Spanish, with our Latino community and other organizations with similar goals.
- Developing and promoting a scholarship program for talented Latino male and female coaches, who want to continue improving their preparation as soccer coaches.
- Promoting and guiding Latino male and female players, who excel in both athletics and academics, to obtain available scholarships for them around the country.
- Promoting not only the soccer development of players but also their academic and professional development. Thus, LASCC will also inform the Latino community regarding the various academic majors related to sports (such as sports science, sports medicine, athletic training, sports management sports journalist and commentator, etc.) that could be of interest to the Latino players. Once their playing career comes to an end they could be able to keep involved with the game.
- and help its further development around the country through their sport-related academic preparation.
- Promoting and guiding talented Latino male and female referees, who also want to continue improving their referee preparation/qualifications, to obtain available scholarships for them around the country
- Developing a branches-network in the Latino communities across the United States, with the objective of identifying talented coaches who could be good potential candidates to become members of our staff. This will allow us to reach and educate more coaches within the Latino community.
- Promoting male and female coaches, players and referees who have talent in all levels of soccer including youth clubs, colleges and universities, professional and national teams.
- Promoting and respecting the NSCAA code of ethics.
