Barry is 13th Recipient of the Robinson Award
An NSCAA member since 1970, Bob Barry has coached the Iolani School boys team for 24 years. In that time, he has compiled a 328-116-46 record, made 10 trips to the state championship game and won five titles. He has served the NSCAA in a variety of ways, including a stint as a Board regional representative. He has been active in the awards program, serving on the winter boys high school rankings committee and as the West Region chair for the high school All-America program. His former players include Ric Miller, the first Hawaiian to be drafted into the NASL, and Mike Woitalla, senior editor at Soccer America.

Barry received his award from NSCAA President Al Albert (left) and the award's namesake, Robert W. Robinson (right).

About the Robert W. Robinson Award

This award is named in honor of Robert W. “Robby” Robinson, a Philadelphia area high school coach who has touched virtually every aspect of the NSCAA. An NSCAA Hall of Famer, he is a past president of the organization and received the Honor Award in 1998. He currently is NSCAA’s Convention Manager. Each year, the NSCAA presents this award to a person who has raised interscholastic soccer to new heights through his or her long-term dedication to the game.
