About the Advocacy Council
The role of the Advocacy Council will be to advocate for issues in the game and Association that effect our membership. The Advocacy Council will provide accountability and oversight for the Membership Council and Membership Groups. They will advise both the Board of Directors and the professional staff on the needs and the desires of the membership at large.
The Advocacy Council will be composed of representatives from the following: Professional, College, High School, Youth, and Diversity and the Advocacy Council Chair. Advocacy Group representatives shall serve a three-year term, with the option to serve a second consecutive term, if approved and agreed upon by the Membership Council and Board of Directors. Requirements to serve again shall be determined by the Advocacy Council and approved by the Board of Directors.
The Advocacy Council shall be led by the Advocacy Council Chair who shall serve as an ex-officio member on the Board of Directors and as a liaison to the Professional Staff for the Council. The Advocacy Council shall recommend an Advocacy Council Chair to the Board to be approved, who shall serve a three-year term, with the option to serve a second consecutive term, if approved and agreed upon by the Advocacy Council and Board of Directors.
The Advocacy Council, Membership Council and Membership Groups will create and expand opportunities for membership to serve on committees, task forces or take other leadership roles within the NSCAA.
