NSCAA launches Goalkeeping Level 1 Online Diploma
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 7, 2017) - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) today launched a Goalkeeping Level 1 Online Diploma
, the organization’s first eLearning course specific to coaching and training the goalkeeper position.
The Goalkeeping Level 1 Online Diploma provides coaches with a basic and working knowledge of instructing goalkeeping to youth and entry level players. The course curriculum offers the opportunity to learn from NSCAA Goalkeeping Academy instructors Tony DiCicco, Lisa Cole and Giovanni Pacini covering topics that include handling, positioning, footwork, communication, warm-ups and mental skills for successful goalkeeping.
The course is available to the NSCAA’s more than 30,000 members for $50 and can be purchased for $65 by non-members. All individuals who complete the course will earn a digitally personalized NSCAA Diploma which serves as a prerequisite for the Goalkeeping Level 2 Diploma course and will also gain access to the full NSCAA Goalkeeping Academy with more than 75 hours of goalkeeper training.
“The aim of the NSCAA Goalkeeping Academy is to provide coaches of all levels of goalkeeping with a platform for enhancing their knowledge of goalkeeping and their ability to coach, teach and develop better goalkeepers,” said NSCAA Goalkeeping Academy Director Tony DiCicco. “My personal coaching philosophy is to challenge our students/players and then guide them to success.”
The NSCAA Goalkeeping Academy now offers the following five diplomas, with more than 35 in-person courses currently scheduled across the country in the coming months:
- Goalkeeping Level 1 Online Diploma
- Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma (in-person, six hours)
- Goalkeeping level 2 Diploma (in-person, 12 hours)
- Goalkeeping Level 3 Diploma (in-person, 18 hours)
- Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma (in-person, 56 hours)
The Goalkeeping Level 1 Online Diploma is the latest eLearning course available through NSCAA.com. Other online courses include Foundations of Coaching, Level 1 Futsal, Small Sided Games (4v4, 7v7 and 9v9), Attacking/Defending Principles of Play and Key Moments in the Game. In addition, the NSCAA also offers Get aHEAD Safely in Soccer and LGBT Diversity & Inclusion as free online courses for all in the coaching community.
